The situation

Due to an upcoming retirement within the UK, Degussa were looking for an innovative leader with drive to head up their admixtures division within the UK.

They were looking to employ an individual with an impressive track record of leadership and growth within a related sector within the construction industry.

What Elliot Marsh did

The Elliot Marsh project team, picked with the closest assignment history, had a number of meetings with the leadership team at Degussa to ensure that the team fully understood the vacancy, the role expectations, and the competencies and cultural fit needed. It was decided that this project would be best delivered using a dual advertising and headhunting approach.

Advertisements were designed and placed in the appropriate media, all handled by Elliot Marsh.                                                                                                                                                          Running in tandem a targeted headhunting was conducted, identifying and proactively approaching individuals with a history of success in similar roles.

The results

The advertisement response, along with the headhunting exercise identified a total of 137 appropriate candidates. After a number of interviews by Elliot Marsh, a shortlist of 8 candidates was identified and progressed to interview with the client. From this 8 person shortlist the successful candidate was chosen, offer extended and an appointment was successfully made.
