The situation
Entering into a hugely dynamic period of growth; firm plans are now in place to take turnover to exceed £200 million and achieve full PLC flotation. This will be achieved by combining domestic and international acquisition with organic growth.
Planning the assignment campaign.
As part of the plan to take the group to full market flotation it is essential to expand their human resources function whilst maintaining the existing strong group culture. To identify the a shortlist of candidates with the necessary track record, key competencies, allied market experience and the correct cultural match, a targeted headhunt was agreed to be the best option.
The results
The role did prove as challenging as predicted. It was essential to acquire large corporate experience to build human resources presence in the group that would be able to not only grows with the business, but actively aid in the plc floatation. Also important was experience of company acquisition, the merging of contract terms and the resultant change management skills. Building an enviable training structure and the support and coaching skills needed was essential for the organic growth, so this was added to the historical success needed in the successful incumbent. Alongside all this we could not compromise identifying individuals who could thrive within the cultural strengths that have gained ENER.G the huge successes of recent years.
The combination of multi industry searches and numerous interviews held by Elliot Marsh did prove successful in producing a healthy shortlist of 4 suitable applicants submitted to the client. 2 progressed through to final interviews, resulting in a successful offer and acceptance.
